I am in love with easy, everyday dresses. When I was a little girl I insisted on wearing dresses every day until I was in 2nd grade. Needless to say my mom made me a lot of dresses. I think my little Lizzy is just like her mama because she loves to wear dresses. Every day she picks her clothing and it is almost always a dress. However, she is a very busy girl who likes to get dirty so the dresses need to be light and every day casual dresses. She has reached the 2 1/2 year mark now which means she has grown out of the 2T and into the 3T and I have been sewing like crazy. I made her a simple button up dress this week with big pockets to carry all the rocks and chalk she needs.
I love the key fabric, (Michael Miller, Secret Garden Lock and Key), and the contrasting big buttons.
I also love the little feminine touch of ruffles at the collar.

Such a sweet little dress! Isn't it funny how they all like big pockets for their important treasures?
My daughter loves pockets in her dresses! This is so very cute. Thanks for sharing at our Handmade Tuesdays party!
This is soo sweet! I adore the key pattern and the big pockets rock! Wish my little girl had pockets like this when she was little for all the little odds and ends she loved to collect for me!
