Kids Craft-Detangling Tangled

Part of being a mom to little girls is primping...and that not only applies to the girl but all of her dolls as well. My daughter's favorite doll, Rapenzel has got a lot of hair. A lot of long hair. And man does it get tangled. I searched the internet for ideas on detangling doll hair and here is what I found.

Tangled Mess:

In a bowl pour 1/3 cup of liquid fabric softener. Add 1 1/2 cups of really hot water. Dip the doll's hair in the mixture and begin combing through. I used a plastic comb and separated the hair into small sections. Start combing at the root all the way to the end. This is a really long process and you might have to re-dip throughout. Also a lot of doll hair was pulled out in the process. Not enough to notice anything but you might need a pair of scissors handy.
After about an hour here is how she turned out. Smoothing and soft again. Braid the hair at night or twist it to prevent future tangles.

Elizabeth helped throughout the process. We actually made living room into a doll salon and she brushed all the doll's hair and put their clothing back on. We pretended to do their make up and paint their toes. It was a fun bonding time for myself and her.

i tried this with cheap hair detangler and started combing from the bottom up to the roots and it went pretty quickly. I love how pretty my daughters dolls look now and she was thrilled that i was playing dolls with her so two for the price of one :)
