Home Makeover-New Years Goal

One of my goals that I set this year is to redo some of the furniture I have lying around my house. I have been married for 5+ years now and I think about 1/2 of our furniture was bought by my husband and myself. The rest was donated to use by his parents (thanks mom and dad). So with that said most of the furniture is a little dated and doesn't really match the rest of our furniture. I have had this on my to do list for so long but I still haven't done anything about it. So here is what I really want to achieve this year.

1. Recover these red wing back chairs (I have two of them). The fabric isn't awful but it is dated and ripping in places. Add two children to the mix and you get stains and more rips.

2. Recover this adorable PINK coach. I love the style, it has so much character however the color is atrocious. It has marker stains down the back and pen marks on the arm. I love the tuffed back and the legs but the pink with red and white dots is not doing it for me.

3. Refinish and repaint the side tables and buffet table. This is a project I have been doing a lot of research on. My problem is I don't know what color to do them. A part of me wants something super fun like red or yellow. Another part is saying go subtle with cream or black. I think for the buffet table I am going to paint it cream and leave the top brown but refinish it. And replace all the hardware.

The other table is a small side table with 3 draws, similar style that I use in my craft room. I think I will paint that one a fun color like red, purple, or yellow.

4. Make some fun throw pillows for my family room

Just a few ideas via Pinterest.

5. Make some bean bag style chairs for the kids playroom. I bought this pattern from Made that I plan on using.

If I even accomplish half of this list I will consider it a success. Wish me luck.
