Ruffle Skirt Remake

More ruffles, I know I know. But what can I say. . . I love them. This time I took an old black pencil skirt and decided to add a little flair. I actually got this idea from Crafting with the Stars and thought it was so cute.

All I did was take some cream sweatshirt material and cut 2 long strips about twice the size of the skirt (in length) and the width is up to you (I did about 7 inches). The nice thing about using the sweatshirt material is you don't have to hem because there is no fraying. Then baste stitch down one side lengthwise in two rows (this will be your ruffle). Scrunch to make the ruffle and stitch it to the bottom half of the skirt from the bottom up. So cute and easy. At first I thought it was a little poofy and prom like but after I wore it to church and got so many compliments I felt more comfortable. Something fun out of something boring.
