My daughter has been on her scooter a few too many times in her cute red ballet flats. I love these shoes so much and was so sad to see the toes scuffed. Today I managed to fix her shoes with some painters tape, Mod Podge, and Martha Stewart glitter. My daughter loves the makeover too!
The toes were almost completely ripped out of these shoes when we started.
I used blue painters tape to tape off the toes of each shoe.
Then I applied a thick coat of Mod Podge.
I sprinkled on enough glitter to completely cover the Mod Podge.
The glitter dried for a couple of hours and then I applied one more coat of Mod Podge.
A few hours later I peeled off the tape to reveal our new sparkly shoes.
No more holes in the toes!
My daughter was excited to go and try out her new shoes.

What a great idea! They came out so cute! Hmm...I should try that with Robbie's shoes! LOL, just kidding of course! (sigh) I wish there were more fun things to craft for school age boys! Got any ideas? Wouldn't that make for a good series, too. (hint, hint)

We got a pair of hand me down shoes in that exact same condition. I was just going to pitch them. Now I'm excited to give them a cute fix!

I wonder how this would work on shoes that are already glittery. I might give it a try... maybe using a coordinating glitter color.
This trick might save some shoes--I've got to go pull them out of the garbage right now!
