Swing Jacket

Another Heidi and Finn pattern that I love is their Swing Jacket. I wanted to make something a little warmer for my daughter but not bulky. The swing coat is a perfect solution. I found this great purple plaid wool at Joann's, I just love the color. (Joann's actually has a great selection of plaid suiting I think I might make another one.) Anyways, I lined the coat with grey polka dot cotton. The wool makes it warm but the cotton keeps it light.

I just love how it turned out. I love the collar, I love the big bow, I love the color. It is the perfect fall jacket.

The only problem is it is a little big. I thought it would be like the other Heidi and Finn patterns, running a little small. This jacket does not run small, it is true to size. But I rolled up the sleeves which works for now and next year she will be able to wear it again.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!Link

  6. Just precious! I love swing jackets and she looks adorable in it.

I can't sew if my life depended on it, but maybe I should learn? I have an old Westinghouse in my garage that belonged to my Grandma. Although I don't have any little ones to sew for, I could do home decor stuff. Hmm... Thanks for sharing and getting my creative juices flowing!

    Found you via link party.
