I was in need of a quick Spring remake, it is Spring now. I decided to make some new Spring themed pillow covers. Pillow covers are so EASY to make. I took me 1 hour to make 3 covers. I wanted the covers to be simple with some fun quirky aspects so I printed some images on fabric to add to the pillows. "Printed on Fabric you say?" Anyone can do it.
All you need is a decent printer, fabric, and some freezer paper. Iron the freezer paper onto the fabric really good...iron, iron, iron.
Then place the fabric in your printer making sure the fabric side is the side that will be printed on. Create your image in whatever format you like (I used google images and photoshop). Click print and voila you have an image printed on fabric. All you have to do is peal the paper off and use the fabric however you like.I sewed mine onto my pillow covers before I sewed them up and I used a little embroidery stitching on one of the images for some extra fun. I love how they turned out. So much better than my old grungy ones and I plan on making many more in the near future.
Printing on fabric is so useful. You can print your own labels, print subway art on your favorite fabric print, or use it for banners.
Wow, that's very interesting! Is it washable? I know for pillows it's not much of an issue, but I was wondering, if this could be done for apparel?
