Pinterest 2013-Jan #1

Did I tell you all about my new toy I got for Christmas? An I-Pad and let me tell you it is wonderful, especially when I am nursing and have nothing to do. However it has increased my Pinterest time, it is so nice to just have the I-Pad out and check out the latest pins. I have been searching
Pinterest for picture display ideas lately but I will save those for later since I am planning to make a few of my favorite finds. For now you can see my other favorites this week:

bookself to doll house, I wish I was more creative in wood crafts
 polka dot cake
poppy and grey, loving these colors right now
25 small quilting tutorials, this is more my quilting speed and time limits
project run and play has started again, check out this remix by lbg
Happy pinning everyone!

Pinterest Finds-October Fall Theme

I love how October 1st comes and there are pumpkins everywhere. Even though the temperatures are still in the 80s here, fall is coming. And all with fall comes lots of new Holiday themed projects. Here are some of my favorites that I have seen so far on Pinterest.

Pumpkin Pie French Toast. Anything pumpkin flavored and I am in. Plus I am sure it makes your house smell amazing.

Paper Plate Ghosts: I love how the bottom of the ghost gives the appearance of flying through the house.

Spider Wed Walking Game. Great for home decor and learning balance.

Swirling Ghosts. This is a great project for 4 and 5 year olds learning to cut.

Fluffy Pumpkin Dip. This is adorable inside a pie pumpkin. I think it would be great with graham crackers, cookies, or even apples.

What kind of fall items are on your to do list?

Fun Find Friday- Pinterest Week #8

This weeks Pinterest finds are all home crafts. With the weather changing, we are going to be spending more time in doors and that is the perfect excuse to add these quick home makeover tips to your own home.

Crayon dipped candles. These would bring festivity to any home and make for a great gift.

Cascading Ruffle Pillow from Mama Says Sew.  Remaking pillows is so quick and easy but can totally change a room.

Wall Stenciling Tutorial. This takes time but is so worth it when all is finished. Just make sure to use it as an accent not every wall in a room.

Painted Curtain Rods. This goes into the "why didn't I think of that" file. What a great way to add some pop of color and still use you old curtain rods. A very time and cost effective change.

Graphic Bulletin Board. Again such a cheap change that would be beautiful in any room of your home. And I love the thumbtack embellishment.
Go and make some of these great ideas, most can be done in under an hour. Every home can use a little makeover once in a while.

Fun Find Friday-Pinterest Week #7

I haven't been on Pinterest all week. That is right I am cutting down on my exploration to take more time for my family. After 5 days of no pinning I went on this morning and realized why I stayed away from for so long. I just wanted to catch a peak and ended up looking for over an hour. ADDICTION! Anyways, I might as well share some of my great finds this week with all of you so that you can feed your addictions too.

put crayons in your glue gun
Okay in theory this sounds cool but I am sure it will ruin your glue gun and I'm not sure it is worth the mess. Maybe if someone tries it they can let me know what they think??

Felt Owls
Simple and would be great for a baby room or Halloween decorations.

Pie Crusts from Martha Stewart
I love making pies and unlike some people I think presentation is one of the best parts about  making a homemade pie.

.
Transfer images to canvas and other sources
This technique is very different from what I have seen. I'll have to try it out.

Military Inspired Coat
I love this coat. It is the perfect combination of grown up style but the orange makes it kid friendly.

Cake Batter Fudge
I'm not sure if it is my pregnancy cravings or what but this looks delicious!

Happy Pinning Everyone!

Fun Find Friday-Pinterest Week 6

Another week of great Pinterest finds. I keep telling myself to STOP PINNING because I have so many I haven't tried yet but I just can't stop. Hopefully I will get around to them some day. In the meantime here is what I found and loved this week.

How to Get Koo-Aid (and other bright spills) Out of Carpet I think every mom needs this tip!
This navy and orange outfit is adorable. I love the relaxed feel but with fun accessories.
Basic Pea Coat with some inventive additions. My little man would be so cute in this coat this winter.
Celestial Pumpkins by Martha Stewart. Simple and gorgeous pumpkin carvings to light up a Halloween path.
White chocolate, Cranberry, and Strawberry rocky road. This would be a great Christmas treat for the neighbors and teachers.
Popcorn-filled vases. So simple and festive. I just love the orange glow.
So far 44 boards and 3,400 pins. I have made probably 30 of those pins. I'm on my way!

Fun Find Friday-Pinterest Week 5

FINALLY. I love technology until it fails me. Spending two days without the internet is a nightmare in my house. It really is amazing how 15 years ago the internet was so new and now I can't function a day without it. It is truly the most influential invention of the 20th century.

Anyways, now that I am back here is what I have been doing for the past two days. I finished the second quilt top for the bunk beds. This one is for Elizabeth so I changed the colors a little. I added some plain purple squares and more flowers. Same fabric line Echo as the previous quilt but a few choice colors that I hadn't incorporated. I am really happy with how it turned out.

Now all to do is the boarder, backing, and quilting. I might try to quilt it myself but I haven't decided if I want to take the time or just pay someone do it it and get it done sooner.

The truth is I wasn't totally away from the internet thanks to my smartphone so I spent some of my free time checking out Pinterest on my phone. Here are my favorites from this week:

Mini Screen Printing. Adorable for printing on fabric or adding an embellishment.
I love the piping details and the sweet color combination on this corduroy dress. I really need to incorporate more piping in my sewing.
This summer heat has been too long, probably because I am carrying around an extra 25lbs. I am ready for fall and this post has given me some inspiration for getting back to pre-baby weight.
Great step-by-step tutorial on the double braided headband. I love this look.
Cinnamon Roll Cake. This reminds me of my Grandma's breakfast bread recipe that I have tried to make over and over and cannot get right. A very good substitute for special morning breakfasts.
Neapolitan Rose Cake. I love this cake and color scheme. It would be perfect for a "I love Paris" party theme.

I hope you all watched Project Runway last night. I have been behind because of the Olympics but my DVR is set and ready to watch tonight. HAPPY PINNING.
